Scope
This policy applies to the Mappamory iOS app and mappamory.com. The website is a static product and support site. It does not provide login, accounts, form submission, or a web app, and it runs no analytics scripts. The homepage concept map reads fixed vector assets only from this website. It does not read in-app people, records, photos, device location, or contact a map provider.
Local storage
People, records, places, dates, tags, titles, notes, photos, avatars, and preferences you create are stored in the app’s private storage on the current device by default. Mappamory does not require an account or operate its own cloud-sync service.
Mappamory-owned server boundary
Mappamory does not upload the people, records, places, photos, notes, or tags you create to Mappamory-owned servers. Maps, place search, geocoding, current location, and App Store purchases may use related Apple system services.
Maps and location
Places organize people and records you choose to save. Mappamory does not show a friend’s live location or record your movement history. The app calls location features only when you deliberately use current location, enable map following, or choose a place for a record. The website concept map shows preset demo people and places. Its outlines come from fixed vector assets deployed with the site; it does not read app data or browser location or send requests to a map provider.
Photos, camera, and contacts
Photo import uses Apple’s system photo picker, so Mappamory can read only the photos you choose. Camera access is used only when you take an avatar or record photo. Contact import uses Apple’s system contact picker; Mappamory receives only the contacts you explicitly select and lets you review them before saving.
Export, backup, and sharing
A .fabackup file is used only when you deliberately create or import a backup. A full backup can include people, records, tags, links, record photos, avatars, and place images. A data-only backup skips record photos but may retain avatars and place images. You choose where a file is saved and who receives it through the system share sheet or file picker.
Plus and StoreKit
If you purchase Mappamory Plus, Apple App Store and StoreKit handle purchases, subscriptions, refunds, and payment information. Mappamory reads only whether Plus is active so it can open the related usage limits.
Your control
You can view, edit, or delete the people and records you create and clear local app data. Backup or shared files already saved to iCloud Drive, email, or another app must be managed in those destinations.
