Tutorial

Start with a friend map

Mappamory starts with one simple idea: record a person, then connect that person with places, time, and shared experiences. You do not need to finish everything at once. Start with the clue you remember best.

  1. 01

    Quick start

Open the app and begin from the map or the people view. You can create a person first, or start from a place that reminds you of a shared memory.

    • Prepare a name or nickname
    • Choose the place you remember most clearly
    • Write one short note first, then add photos, tags, and dates later
  2. 02

    Create a person

A person is the entry point for every memory. Add an avatar, relationship label, and note so you can return to their related places later.

    • Works for friends, classmates, family, coworkers, or people from a certain chapter of life
    • Relationship labels make filtering easier later
    • Profiles can stay lightweight and grow over time
  3. 03

Add a long-term place connection with Anchor

Anchor records the lasting connection between a person and a place, such as a hometown, school, workplace, old home, or a place you often remember.

    • Use it for where someone is from, studied, worked, lived, or often appeared in your memory
    • Anchors appear on the map as relationship coordinates
    • One person can have multiple Anchors
  4. 04

Save a shared memory with Moment

Moment captures a specific shared experience, such as a meeting, dinner, trip, visit, or a small memory that suddenly feels worth keeping.

    • Choose a place, then add time, title, tags, and notes
    • You can connect multiple people to one Moment
    • Later, search by place, person, or keyword
  5. 05

View people and places on the map

Mappamory is built around a native map experience. Avatars, places, and clusters appear directly on the map, so you can see where important people are connected.

    • Zoom to browse cities and places
    • Select an avatar or cluster to open people and memories
    • Starting from the map often feels more natural than starting from a list
  6. 06

    Search and filter

As records grow, you can find memories again by people, places, event titles, tags, and dates.

    • Search even if you only remember the place
    • Search even if you only remember the person
    • Tags and dates help organize long-term records
  7. 07

Export and back up local data

Mappamory is not a public social network. Your personal records belong to your device by default, and you can export data or create a complete local backup when needed.

    • Back up important records regularly
    • Use export for migration, archiving, or personal data management
    • For privacy questions, read the Privacy Policy or contact support

Start with one person

Think of someone important and save the first place connected to them. Your friend map can grow from there.
